About me

I’m a UX/UI designer who builds human-centered and memorable designs, with a background in digital marketing and content strategy. I’m driven by curiosity about the user journey at every stage of the design process, using my background in high impact marketing, website optimization and creative problem solving to connect with customers and enhance loyalty and trust.

My UX journey

I was drawn to the strategy behind PR and how I could meet the audience upon clear communication and content strategy.

My time working as a marketing coordinator in the healthcare industry for almost four years opened my eyes to the realities of the audience or end users, allowing me to learn how to empathize with them and communicate with them to help meet their needs. The practice of perspective-shifting and empathizing was a challenge that I really enjoyed and found gratifying.

Public Relations

I then turned my focus to digital marketing to build on my skillset of data analysis and strategic problem solving to improve communication and reach a wider variety of viewers and audience groups.

Of my many responsibilities, I’ve had to work on website layouts in a variety of ways: building from scratch, updating current layouts, working on meta titles and descriptions, and more. This further sparked my interest in problem solving and meeting the needs of the audience/customers.

Digital Marketing

With my deepening love for problem solving, I wanted to lean further into my creative side and find the intersection where my love for great aesthetics and building user-centered solutions and design meet.

UX/UI Design

My experiences have taught me that great design is not created as a sprint, but a marathon. It is a highly iterative process that requires collaboration between teams and end users. It's hard to accept that the first design may not be ‘the one,’ especially in the early development stages.

It’s exciting to uncover information about the users to better empathize, step into their shoes, and understand the motives behind their actions. So to me, it’s crucial that I best understand the who, what, when, where and why, before tackling the how.

Outside of my work, I find rest and inspiration through baking and sharing them with neighbors and friends, hosting bake fundraisers, reading books, traveling, and visiting museums. These passions fuel my love for building connections and for being a perpetual student, constantly learning from and being inspired by others' stories and different perspectives.

Currently, I’m thoroughly enjoying Bell Hook’s All about love, The design of everyday things by Don Norman, and Mismatch, How inclusion shapes design by Kat Holmes.
